Notes
When cutting the potatoes, aim for uniform-sized sticks to ensure even cooking.
Soaking the cut potatoes in cold water helps remove excess starch and results in crispier fries.
Thoroughly dry the potatoes after soaking to prevent excess moisture during baking.
Preheating the baking sheet in the oven helps create a crispier texture on the bottom of the fries.
Flip the fries halfway through the baking time to ensure even browning on all sides.
Adjust the amount of peri peri masala according to your spice tolerance.
Consider experimenting with different dipping sauces to complement the spicy flavor of the fries.
If deep-frying the fries, ensure the oil is at the correct temperature (around 350°F/175°C) and drain them on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
Be cautious while handling peri peri chili peppers or peri peri sauce, as they can be very spicy. Use gloves or wash hands thoroughly after handling them.
