Cheesy veggie toast pizza is a quick , instant and tasty variation of pizza recipe  made on griddle or tawa or pan. The bread base intimate the pizza base with veggie toppings. Of course the taste of cheesy veggie toast pizza is different than the original Veg pizza.

Cheesy veggie pizza toast is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that combines the flavors of pizza with the convenience of toast. This dish typically consists of a slice of toasted bread topped with a creamy sauce, vegetables, and cheese, then baked until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serve this Cheesy Toast with chilled beverage like rooh afza, mango milkshake, mango lassi, paan shots or sweet basil drink.

The creamy sauce used on the toast can vary, but it is often a mixture of cream cheese, garlic, and herbs such as basil or oregano. The vegetables used can also vary depending on personal preference, but some popular choices include bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, and tomatoes.

This dish can be served as a quick and satisfying snack, a light lunch, or even as a party appetizer. It is a great way to use up leftover bread and vegetables and can be easily customized to suit individual tastes.

Creamy Veggie Toast Pizza on a Skillet, Pan or Tawa

This recipe is one of those snacks that you can make when you get pizza cravings. You just need a fresh loaf of bread, a really good pizza sauce (I would definitely recommend a homemade Pizza Sauce) and some veggies.

Bread: You can use any variety of bread to make bread pizza like whole wheat flour bread or white bread or multi-grain bread or brown bread or wheat sandwich bread. You can even use a couple of days old bread, but keep in mind that it hasn’t been expired.

Heating: Also do use a heavy tawa or pan. If you use a tawa or skillet that is not heavy, then the bread can get burnt from the bottom. Low heating is the key here as it slowly creates a nice golden crust on the base of the bread.

Base sauce: Generally pizza sauce is used to make a pizza. But in this recipe, you can use white sauce and even pesto sauce as the base sauce. The recipe uses pizza sauce. You can easily make the tomato pizza sauce at home. I have shared the recipe below – Pizza Sauce.

Toppings: For the toppings, you can use veggies of your choice. I always use onions, tomatoes and capsicum (bell pepper). I also like to add some olives. Sometimes I love to add steamed sweet corn too. You can even use baby corn, sautéed mushrooms or sautéed spinach.

Serving Suggestions: Serve bread pizza plain or accompanied with pizza sauce, tomato ketchup or  white cheese dip .

How to make Homemade Pizza sauce

  • Wash the tomatoes well and make a cross slit over the tomatoes.
  • Immerse the tomatoes in boiling water for 1-2 minutes.
  • Transfer the tomatoes immediately and immerse them in cold water to cool down the temperature.
  • Remove the skin and transfer in a mixer grinder.
  • Grind to make semi fine puree. Make sure that the puree should not be more thin or thick.
  • Set a sauce pan on low heat, add oil, garlic & onions, stir &cook on medium flame until its translucent.
  • Now lower the flame and add, Kashmiri red chilli powder and cook briefly o low flame for 15-20 seconds.
  • Now add the tomato puree.
  • Add salt to taste, sugar, oregano& red chilli flakes, increase the flame to medium heat and stir well.
  • Cover for 15-20 minutes on medium flame. Switch off the flame. Pizza sauce is ready, Keep aside to be used later.

How to make Stir fried veggies and white sauce

For stir fried veggies, set a flame on medium heat, add olive oil & garlic, stir &cook for 1-2 minutes on high flame.

  • Now add the veggies.
  • Stir &cook for 3-4 minutes, further add salt& pepper powder, stir &cook for 1-2 minutes, switch off the flame &keep aside to be added later in the white sauce.
  • For white sauce, set a pan on medium low heat, add butter and let it melt, add the flour and cook the flour for 2-3 minutes, remember not to burn the flour  or changing the colour to brown, keep it light brown.
  • Further add, milk in 3 batches and make sure to whisk well while adding milk to make a lump free sauce. Cook the sauce for 3-4 minutes until the sauce is thick & creamy.
  • Now add the stir- fried veggies.Add oregano, chilli flakes, mix it all and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  • Check for the seasoning and adjust the salt as per taste. Stir fried veggies in white sauce is ready. Keep aside for assemble.

How to make creamy veggie pizza toast

  • Evenly apply soft butter over the bread slice.
  • Further spread sufficient amount of pizza sauce over the bread.
  • Top it with veggies in white sauce.
  • And finish by adding mozzarella cheese, tea munt of cheese depends how cheesy you want it to be.
  • Now you can cook them in two ways:

One is in the oven by place a baking sheet over your baking tray, and place the toast over it, bake them  in a preheated oven at 200 c for 8-10 minutes or until the cheese melts.

Other way is you can use a pan with lid.

  • Apply little butter over the pan and place the toast.
  • Cover and cook on medium low flame until the cheese melts & the toast is crisp.
  • Your Creamy pizza toast is ready, cut in squares or triangles and serve hot.

Ingredients

For Pizza Sauce

  • 5-6 medium size Tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 medium size Onion (chopped)
  • 2 tablespoon Garlic (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon Kashmiri red chili powder (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 2 tablespoon Organo
  • 2 tablespoon Red chili flakes

For stir fried veggies in white sauce

  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic (chopped)
  • ½ cup Carrot
  • ½ cup French beans
  • ½ cup Sweet corn kernels
  • ½ cup Red bell pepper
  • ½ cup Green bell pepper
  • Salt & black pepper powder to taste

For White Sauce

  • 2 tablespoon Butter
  • 2 tablespoon Refined Flour
  • 300 ml Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Organo
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Flakes
  • Salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • Firstly, wash the tomatoes well and make a cross slit over the tomatoes. Immerse the tomatoes in boiling water for 1-2 minutes.
    2. Transfer the tomatoes immediately and immerse them in cold water to cool down the temperature.
    3. Remove the skin and transfer in a mixer grinder. Grind to make semi fine puree. Make sure that the puree should not be more thin or thick.
    4. Set a sauce pan on low heat, add oil, garlic & onions, stir &cook on medium flame.

    12. Further add, milk in 3 batches and make sure to whisk well while adding milk to make a lump free sauce. Cook the sauce for 3-4 minutes until the sauce is thick & creamy.
    13. Now add the stir- fried veggies.
    14. Add oregano, chilli flakes, mix it all and cook for 1-2 minutes.
    15. Check for the seasoning and adjust the salt as per taste. Stir fried veggies in white sauce is ready. Keep aside for assemble.
