This recipe is as simple as a cup of coffee. Make dough, pizza sauce, white sauce and lastly assembly the pizza with the toppings. Sooo quick and easy way to make veggie pizza at home.

Preparing the Pizza Dough:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, add 2 cup flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, salt to taste, 1 teaspoon ghee/oil & 1 teaspoon sugar.
  2. Now add 6 tablespoons curd in it.
  3. Append 2 tablespoon water to make the mixture wet.
  4. Mix the ingredients until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 to 1.5 hours or until it doubles in size.⇒Make Pizza Sauce
  • Start by heating the 1 tablespoon sunflower oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Allow it to warm up for a minute or two, but be careful not to let it smoke.
  • Now add 7-8 garlic pods, 2 pieces ginger-1inch each, 1medium-sized onion(sliced) and 1 sliced tomato in to the pan.
  • Pour 1/2 cup water.
  • Now cover the whole raw tadka with lid and cook it for 2-3 minutes.
  • Transfer the whole material to grinder jar. Grind it well until it turn to smooth puree.
  • Now again pour 2 tablespoons oil in pan and add the prepared puree in it.
  • Add 1 teaspoon sugar or as required.
  • Afterwards put salt as per taste.
  • Season the sauce with 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder.
  • Add 1/2 teaspoon oregano & 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes in it to give some spicy flavor. After some time simmer the flame and taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning as per your preference. If it feels too tangy, add a pinch more sugar to balance the acidity. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  • Last but not the least cover it again with lid and cook for 5 minutes till it get fully boiled.
  • Once the sauce reaches your desired consistency and flavor, turn off the heat and let it cool down. During this cooling process, the sauce will continue to thicken.
  • Now your pizza sauce is ready to spread over the pizza, set aside for further use. ⇒Make White Sauce
  • Melt the butter: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon butter until it begins to foam. Be careful not to let it brown.
  • Add the flour: Once the butter is melted, add 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour to the saucepan. Stir continuously with a whisk to create a smooth paste, also known as a roux. Keep stirring for about 2-3 minutes to cook off the raw flour taste.
  • Gradually add milk: Slowly pour 1 cup milk into the roux while whisking constantly. This will help prevent lumps from forming. Continue stirring until the sauce thickens and reaches a smooth, creamy consistency. This should take around 5-7 minutes.
  • Season the sauce: Add salt to taste, 1/2 teaspoon pepper, and a pinch of freshly grated nutmeg (if desired) to enhance the flavor of the sauce. Nutmeg adds a subtle, warm depth to the sauce, but it can be omitted if preferred.
  • Append 1/2 teaspoon oregano & 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes.
  • Final touches: Add 2 tablespoon water in it to adjust the consistency. Once the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency, remove it from the heat. If it becomes too thick, you can add a little more milk too to adjust.
  • White sauce is ready to spread in pizza. Set aside for further use.⇒Assembly The Pizza
  1. Punch down the risen dough and divide it into two equal portions. Roll out one portion on a floured surface into your desired pizza shape and thickness.
  2. Now carefully make small hole with the help of fork as it will make the pizza crispy from bottom.
  3. Carefully transfer the rolled-out dough onto a pan.
  4. Spread half of the pizza sauce evenly on the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.⇒Add The Toppings
  5. Now spread prepared homemade white sauce on it and layer the sliced tomato & capsicum.
  6. Now put sliced onion & american corn. Make sure that corns should be boiled as it will get soft.
  7. Sprinkle the homemade cheese over the toppings.
  8. Last but not the least sprinkle a small pinch of oregano & chili flakes at the head of the toppings.

⇒Baking the Pizza

  1. Cover the pan with lid and cook it for 15-18 minutes until the crust turns golden brown, and the cheese melts and bubbles..
  2. Remove the pizza from the pan, let it cool for a minute and serve it with chilled beverage or hot tea.

Expert Tips

Quality Ingredients: Always use fresh, high-quality ingredients for the best flavors. Choose ripe and vibrant vegetables, good quality mozzarella cheese, and premium olive oil. The better the ingredients, the tastier your pizza will be.

Pizza Stone or Pizza Steel: If you can, invest in a pizza stone or pizza steel. Preheat it in the oven for at least 30 minutes before baking your pizza on it. The stone/steel helps achieve a crispy crust by evenly distributing heat and absorbing excess moisture from the dough.

Pizza Peel or Parchment Paper: If you don’t have a pizza stone, use a pizza peel or parchment paper to transfer the assembled pizza onto the hot oven rack or baking sheet. This prevents the pizza from sticking and makes it easier to slide onto the hot surface.

Don’t Overload with Sauce: Avoid using too much sauce, as it can make the pizza soggy. A thin layer of well-seasoned sauce is sufficient to add flavor without overpowering the other toppings.

Precook Certain Veggies: Some vegetables, like bell peppers and mushrooms, can release excess moisture while cooking, leading to a soggy pizza. Precook these veggies slightly before adding them as toppings to prevent this. Sautéing or roasting them for a few minutes will help retain their flavors without adding moisture.

Cheese Blend: Experiment with different cheese blends to enhance the taste. Mix mozzarella with other cheeses like cheddar, provolone, or feta for a unique flavor profile.

Get Creative with Herbs and Spices: Add extra depth to your pizza by sprinkling some dried or fresh herbs like oregano, basil, thyme, or rosemary on top of the toppings. A dash of red pepper flakes can add a delightful kick for those who enjoy a bit of heat.

Use Cornmeal or Semolina: Before placing the pizza on the pizza peel or baking sheet, sprinkle some cornmeal or semolina to create a non-stick surface. It also adds a pleasant crunch to the crust.

Thin Crust vs. Thick Crust: Adjust the thickness of your crust according to your preference. For a thin and crispy crust, roll it out thinly. If you prefer a thicker, chewier crust, leave it slightly thicker.

Let It Rest: After taking the pizza out of the oven, let it rest for a minute or two before slicing. This allows the cheese to set and prevents the toppings from sliding off.

Get Kids Involved: If you’re making pizza with kids, let them participate in the assembly process. Kids love to get creative with toppings and will enjoy eating the pizza they helped create.

FAQs

Q. Can I make the pizza dough in advance?

A. Yes, you can prepare the pizza dough in advance. After the dough has risen, you can refrigerate it in an airtight container for up to 24 hours. Q. How do I prevent the toppings from burning while baking?

A. To avoid burning the toppings, ensure they are sliced thinly and evenly distributed on the pizza. You can also precook certain toppings, like onions or bell peppers, to reduce their cooking time. Additionally, keep an eye on the pizza while baking and adjust the oven temperature or position if necessary.

Q. Can I make a gluten-free pizza?
